The 6th Annual Hermit Tree Project Art project will be posted once the timer runs out!
What is the HTP?
The Hermit Tree Project is a yearly community art project, where each participant creates a hermit-themed ornament for a digital tree.Each participant will draw between one and three ornaments, each based on a hermit, which they are randomly assigned, and they will be published hanging on a big tree on Christmas Eve of that year.Despite the Tree themeing, this is not a religious event, and people of any and all faiths are welcome to participate.This year, 2026, marks the beginning of Themes, with this years theme being "Art".The project has been running since 2021.

Where is this event run?
---> This event is run on both Instagram, and Tumblr. When you sign up you will be able to choose which one you are contacted through.
---> Image submission and updates are run through the Discord server, which you will recieve a link to when you are contacted with your hermit assignment.Is this a competition?
---> No, everyone who applies with all of the valid information (ie, non private Instagram or Tumblr) will be on the tree.What are the age limits?
---> You must be over 13 to comply with Discord's TOS.What Am I not allowed to add to my ornament?
---> NSFW, shipping, Gore, eyestrain, or anything disurbing are not allowed.
---> AI generated images are not allowed in any form.
---> Failure to comply with these rules will result in you being blacklisted from future events.Someone has the same hermit as me, does this mean they've been reassigned?
---> No, each hermit will have multiple ornaments by different people, this is due to the number of people who sign up each year.What is the deadline?

---> Your unsubmitted hermit assignment(s) would be put up for other people to take.Am I allowed to post my ornament?
---> Yes, once the full tree has been posted.
---> The Discord will recieve a downloadable version of the full image which can be included in posts.
